Jesus Christ's Prayer

Jesus Christ's Prayer

My Voice and God's Voice

1 My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the King;
my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.
2You are the most excellent of men and your lips have been anointed with
grace, since God has blessed you forever.

3 When you ascended on high, you led captives in your train; you received
gifts from men, even from the rebellious – that you, O LORD God, might
dwell there.

4 He has taken me to the banquet hall, and his banner over me is love.
5Take me away with you—let us hurry ! Let the King bring me into his
chambers. 6 Awake, north wind, and come south wind! Blow on my garden,
that it fragrance may spread abroad. Let my lover come into his garden and
taste its choice fruits.

1 I have come into my garden, my sister, my bride; I have gathered my
Myrrh with my spice. I have eaten my honeycomb and my honey; I have
drunk my wine and my milk.

2 Listen, O daughter, consider and give ear:

Forget your people and your father’s house. The King is enthralled by
your beauty; honor him, for he is your Lord. 3 I took you from the ends
of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, you are my
servant; I have chosen you and have not rejected you.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous
right hand. 4 I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in
righteousness and justice, in love and compassion. I will betroth you in
faithfulness, and you will acknowledge the LORD.

5 For your Maker is your husband—the LORD Almighty is his name—
the Holy One of Israel is your redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.
6 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the
world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid.

7 You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace.
